Description:

This book contains a graphic record of the ground zero area of Hiroshima City before the bombing and the artist’s account of his experience of the bombing. The artist Shigeo Moritomi delineates the townscapes very accurately in pencil where his family lived. He survived his father, grandmother, and two brothers who were killed by the bombing. He escaped death because during the bombing he was participating in the wartime mobilization of students for military service in the western area of the city.
