Description:

Title meaning: You saw nothing in Hiroshima. With the participation of Emmanuelle Riva, Alain Resnais, and Sylvette Baudrot, and texts from Dominique Noguez, Marie-Christine Navacelle and Chihiro Minato; photos from Emmanuelle Riva. On July 28, 1958, Alain Resnais, a film director, shot Hiroshima mon amour” in Japan. This is his first feature film and the first screenplay of the writer Marguerite Duras. The 55th anniversary of this historical location is an opportunity to propose a fresh look at this film through texts by Chihiro Minato, Marie-Christine Navacelle, Dominique Noguez, and also an interview with Emmanuelle Riva. A remarkable set of photographs taken before the film's shooting, showing the city of Hiroshima, its people and especially its children, is presented for the first time. These exceptional images illuminate the film as they illuminate the resurrection, thirteen years after the tragedy of August 6, 1945, of the first city hit by an atomic bomb. In these documents and equally rare others, are letters of Alain Resnais to Marguerite Duras, pictures of movie shooting, newspaper pages and notebooks in the script, Sylvette Baudrot.
