The author is a physician and member of the board of directors of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW). He records physicians' activities toward the abolition of nuclear weapons from a medical perspective in this book, based on the work of three associations: the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), regional conferences, and the Japanese Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (JPPNW). The Japanese version of this book contains his activities from 1980 through 2016 and in the English version, through to 2019.
